Chef Lisa Bellan is the owner/operator of Feast of Eden. Feast of Eden was born in 2004 out of a desire to bring beautiful, delicious foods to the discriminating client.

Raised on a farm in central Indiana food production and preparation were central to Lisa's everyday life. Beef, pork and chicken were grown and butchered, and large vegetable gardens, fruit trees and berries were raised. Most of what was eaten by her family was raised on the farm. The production and preserving of food consumed most of her family's summers, as well as baking and competing in her local 4-H program. Her grandmothers and a creative mother passed down years of cooking expertise. Early on, food and cooking became her passion.

Living in California for four years in Gilroy (Garlic Capital of the World), provided the opportunity to learn about California cuisine and a "greener" way of cooking. The opportunity to serve as vice-chair of the Food Stage Committee for the famous Gilroy Garlic Festival and its "Garlic Cook-Off" in 2002 was a tremendous experience while living there. During that time she also traveled to Italy, and was exposed to and inspired by "authentic" Northern Italian food.

After years of dreaming of a paying job in the food business she decided it was time to take the "leap." At the encouragement of family and friends, Lisa left her job as a stockbroker and started a personal chef and catering business. Diet and palate-specific dishes were created for each new personal chef client, as well as her dinner party clients. Notre Dame University created many entertaining opportunities, and Feast of Eden was there to provide unique food and service. Both her private and business clients were impressed with the wonderful attention to detail in both the quality of food and the service provided by Chef Lisa and her staff.

A booth at the South Bend Farmers Market was opened, one of the only year-round, indoor farmer's markets in the country. There customers quickly discovered Feast of Eden's delicious foods—and bought thousands of "baby cheesecakes." The booth was closed due to her move to Chicago with her husband; much to her faithful following's dismay.

Now, Feast of Eden is blossoming in the Chicago-area with a new café located in Palatine where those famous cheesecakes and other items are available. Cheesecakes are also available online, shipped next day to homes or businesses. Come by or order online to partake of the "Feast of Eden experience"!! We are located at 800 E. Northwest Highway, Ste. 50 in the Harris Bank Building, Palatine.
